The Boeing 777 was reportedly taken out of service after returning to Toronto and will be evaluated by maintenance staff.

“After the aircraft landed, it was inspected by airport response vehicles as per normal operating processes, and it taxied to the gate on its own,” Air Canada said in a statement to Global News.

No injuries were reported on the flight.

National Post has contacted Air Canada for comment.

Earlier this week the airline announced a number of new initiatives, including increasing its flights to India, as well as a new non-stop service from Toronto to Mumbai, and offering free alcohol and snacks on North American flights.

The airline said the flights between Toronto and Mumbai will run four times a week starting Oct. 27.

The airline will also boost service from Montreal to Delhi to daily flights, up from last year when it operated up to five weekly flights on the route.

As for North American flights, Air Canada said it will be offering complimentary beer and wine in its economy class until the end of the year. Additionally, free snacks will be provided, featuring Alberta-based Twigz garlic pretzels and Quebec-based Leclerc’s Célébration cookies.
