I had the absolute best hair dresser named Heather who shampooed, cut, colored & styled my hair and it looks great. This was my first time ever being there and I will be going back. I felt so comfortable and relaxed there, because I’m usually feeling stressed & a bit out of place, but not here. Heather made sure I was taken good care of with anything I needed. I recommend going here & I recommend you ask for Heather on her work days of Friday, Saturday & Sunday.

Asked for Balayage. My hair is brown, they didn’t do what I ask. Gave them a photo of what I wanted. I know it’s sometimes takes some time to get extremely blonde. I have had my hair done multiple times in my life time. But they did “full highlights” and not balayage like I asked. The girl even said she did the highlights wrong, and not the way I asked for my hair to look. She said it also blended my hair so much there isn’t much of a difference. Talked to manager (on the phone) (Alexis) she told me I should have paid $200 for the time I was there instead of “$90” because they are charging $1 a minute for the time they are working on your hair. That makes absolutely no sense. I didn’t want to pay full price for my hair because it looks no different, she told me to leave and never some back as a customer. I was willing to pay but not for the amount they were asking cause I didn’t get what I asked for and the stylist owned up and said she did the wrong thing. But the manager had horrible customer service.

I was on a tight schedule and told Alexis the stylist. She did not reply butchatted with the son of a former customer for 10 or 15 minutes after setting me in her chair. She then went to answer the phone, though there was another stylist with no customer. When I asked about the pricing for my style she went and got the sheet and started reading it to me. I asked her if we could talk about the pricing and still work on my hair. She took off my cape and stopped doing my hair and said “I knew how this was going to turn out when you first walked in.” Hmmm…I tried the corporate number but could not reach anyone. I asked the other stylist to finish my hair and split the bill with Alexis the other sylist said you are putting me in the middle. Meanwhile Alexis shouted “that’s stealing if you leave” I said I haven’t left and she then shouted “she’s not welcome here.” She then called Amanda her manager. I spoke to the manager who said “we are short staffed so I have to go with what my sylist said. Hmmm… I had been going to this salon on and off for about 4 years. Alexis said she had been working there at Smart Stlyes Belmont n.c. for four months. Amanda had my bill voided. I wished her good luck. She will need it. By the way all of the African American workers and clientele had vanished from the Salon, and I will join them.

Today I went to have my hair cut and colored with highlights. I showed a picture of the way I wanted it cut. I asked for Brown hair with Carmel highlights. I asked her to NOT put any ASH color on my hair. My hair was cut to no real style. My color was black with ASH and highlights we’re dulled blonde with ASH because she did want them to be to blonde. The highlights we’re not even. One big chunk on one side and three small strands on the other side. Beware with you does your hair. Don’t use someone you don’t know. I should have waited for the other girl. She was off two days and I was in a hurry to get it done. I’m going tomorrow to ask for my money back because now I have to go somewhere to have my hair stripped and done the right way.

They absolutely need to send corporate there. I don’t believe some of the women there should have even passed their state exam! I went in there with my two daughters for hair cuts they literally butchered our hair, and when I went to complain the management didn’t do anything other than want the people that messed our hair up to fix it. (They couldn’t do the job right the first time why would I want them to do it again). Save your time & your money and go somewhere else.

Never ever again. Nope! Went in as a walk in and was basically told by one of the hair dressers that they do not do “my kind of hair”. This man then proceeds to tell me that they mostly cater to men in a room full of women!?! All I wanted was a hair trim to even my hair.

My two sons 11 & 15 wanted to have their hair cut without me so while I shopped I allowed them to go have their hair cut . My 11 year old had a picture to go by of a close short hair cut , mind you his hair was half way to his shoulders and when I picked them up he started crying saying she didn’t cut his hair the way he asked and took his hoody off … Well to my surprise I couldn’t even tell he had haven his hair cut at all it looked like she hadn’t put as much as a comb through it let alone cut it .. There is no way to mistake cutting his hair from what it was to what he requested without seeing a huge difference.. I saw along with him no difference he said it took her a matter of 5 mind or less from the time he sat in the chair to getting up .. I told him he should have told her without feeling like he was being rude or disrespectful that he was unhappy with the outcome of his style considering the huge difference in what he requested and what he did not receive . I called to complain they agreed to fix it But he has pictures tomo morning for school before they are able to fix his hair cut .. Hmmm
